Your search to find a therapist that fits for you can be a challenging experience. Trusting your intuition, listening to your gut, and basing your decision off of chemistry can be an excellent start to your therapy.

I bring a lot of experience working with couples and am well-equipped to help them get through challenging transitions, old patterns of conflict, and unforeseen stressors. Couples sessions are 90 minutes and I prefer to meet weekly for the first month. We look at both perspectives on the issues, and collaborate to create a plan that will be most effective in moving forward in beneficial ways.
I often use Family Systems in my practice. In your first session, we'll look at your current reasons for wanting therapy, what you're hoping to get out of it, and ways that can help you move forward. With Family Systems we'll explore your family history and early attachments, and how those may be affecting and influencing your current symptoms. I'll help you understand some of the root causes.
Whether navigating depression, anxiety, stress, substance abuse, overwhelm, or a desire to resolve past trauma, it can be helpful to have a trained professional on your team to get through it. So much of a successful therapeutic experience depends on the quality of the relationship. I find it helpful to start with a brief phone call so that I can hear a bit more about what you are experiencing and what you are looking are, share a bit about my practice, and answer any questions you may have. Collectively you and I can decide if we’re a good fit. If for whatever reason we decide we aren't the right match I would be happy to help you find someone who is.
Relationships take ongoing effort and sometimes we need outside support to help navigate through the often challenging territory of intimacy. Love is a consistent effort to take someone else's wellbeing into consideration and following through with that commitment. Marriage counseling or couples therapy can provide much needed clarity and a neutral third party to facilitate helpful resolution.
Work with systems of interaction between family members to nurture change and development. Family counseling can help your family improve communication and the quality of your relationships.
My hope is that you will see your seeking help not as a sign of weakness but as a sign of strength that you are willing to heal and to grow.
